A headless conversion gets as far as "convert /home/paul/Desktop/test_crash/crashy_pleading.doc -> /home/paul/Desktop/test_crash/crashy_pleading.docx using Office Open XML Text", with soffice hanging in the background and using lots of memory and 100% cpu.
