That sounds like an excellent strategy.

It's likely to help boost LibreOffice's presence at conferences and
raise 'our' profile with whoever else goes along to such conferences
for other projects.  Also people who go mainly for LibreOffice also
get to see other projects.  There are some quite nice t-shirts and
things that could be worn at such events to make LibreOffice more
visible but i think it's important to also have a suit&tie contingent
(i think there is a tie-pin or tie-design somewhere in marketing).
