in general, your child pipeline/workflow should use the parameters values if they're defined there (in the child) rather than the variable values. I'll see if I can work out an example for this later today. If you can get us a reproduction path of where this **doesn't** work for you, that would also help. You're migrating 8000 files from a platform that Hop forked from well over 6 years ago. Most of that migration should be smooth sailing, but there will be some issues, like the one you're facing now. Hundreds/thousands of companies/projects have done similar migrations. It may take some work and some refactoring, but there's always a way.
