try that :

Alias /forum/ "E:/Software/Tomcat5.0/webapps/test2/forum/"
<Directory "E:/Software/Tomcat5.0/webapps/test2/forum">
   AllowOverride None
   Options FollowSymLinks
   Order allow,deny
   Allow from all
</Directory>

What's happen when you try to get directly an image ?
http://your.site.com/forum/images/myimage.gif ?
