Umm...strangely enough you miss the point (that's both Subhodip and PK).
If there are drivers that make 'old hardware' better (it is a completely
different question as to whether there has been an assessment of whether
the state and central governments actually use old hardware for newer
projects), they should ideally be upstream-ed

Not all mainstream distributions have 22 Indic locales, the tragedy is
that for reasons best known to C-DAC (and those who align with them),
they have either:

[i] chosen to ignore existing language communities
[ii] gone ahead to work on locales which have issues OPEN in Unicode

To add to these, BOSSLinux doesn't provide a transparent means for
contributors to begin contributions. One of the reasons for that
probably is that the distribution does not have a 'in-public' release
schedule. For example, Fedora or Ubuntu or OpenSuSE (or for that matter
any 'community distribution') have a release schedule that is devised
after watching how upstream components release.

has a quote from a member of the BOSSLinux team talking about egos.
Forget software for a moment and consider this hypothetical case - you
have a nice house in which you have done the interiors, but haven't done
up the exterior. I figure out that I have spare cash, and, do up the
exterior in beige (say) without asking you. Now, in this case, it isn't
about ego is it ? It is about being a good citizen and figuring out how
to get work done by working 'together' and being inclusive.
