Thanks to all who tried to help me!

The device is the following:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-in-1-5-0-Audio-USB-Bluetooth-Transceiver-Transmitter-Receiver-Adapter-Wireless/163945014115?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

The USB connection is not necessary -- it is only needed to connect
the audio cable. The USB cable appears to be to charge the device.
While the USB cable is connected, an annoying noise interferes on the
headset; without the USB cable connected, the sound is nice.

The XFCE bluetooth manager does not show any adapter, even when the
bluetooth adapter is connected and transmitting the audio of the
computer to a wireless headphones!
