Fedora 42 dracut should already have the changes that came in dracut 107
reverted. New initramfs should be roughly 1/2 the size they are now.
I did not see that change.
Did you install (or re-install) a new kernel after upgrading dracut?
Did see a slightly smaller kernel size on machine if nvidia card after
107 dracut. dropped from 180 to 156?

Did find that if I removed the nvidia-gpu-firmware rpm and rebuild
kernels, they would be about a 100M smaller compared to img files on
other machines without nvidia hardware?
Yes, the NVidia firmware is huge and needs to be included in the initramfs.
