What I meant was I didn't see the 1/2 change in size. The latest
kernel was reinstalled, and it changed from 180 to the 156. Think
the Rescue kernel changed from 281 to 279, so it was less of a
change.

Looking at
/lib/firmware/nvidia$ ls -lrt ga102/gsp/ tu102/gsp/
Two biggest directories with files.
ga102/gsp/:
total 75324
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 51324396 Aug 10 10:00 gsp-570.144.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 25639648 Aug 10 10:00 gsp-535.113.01.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 18076 Aug 10 10:00 bootloader-570.144.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 16688 Aug 10 10:00 bootloader-535.113.01.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 20628 Aug 10 10:00 booter_unload-570.144.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 19200 Aug 10 10:00 booter_unload-535.113.01.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 35616 Aug 10 10:00 booter_load-570.144.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 33592 Aug 10 10:00 booter_load-535.113.01.bin.xz

tu102/gsp/:
total 25472
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 13371848 Aug 10 10:00 gsp-570.144.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 12589816 Aug 10 10:00 gsp-535.113.01.bin.xz
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root       28 Aug 10 10:00 bootloader-570.144.bin.xz ->
bootloader-535.113.01.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 888 Aug 10 10:00 bootloader-535.113.01.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 19256 Aug 10 10:00 booter_unload-570.144.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 18316 Aug 10 10:00 booter_unload-535.113.01.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 34104 Aug 10 10:00 booter_load-570.144.bin.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 32956 Aug 10 10:00 booter_load-535.113.01.bin.xz

Then other directories seem to have links to the big files,
not sure if it includes the symbolic links, or if it includes copies ot
the big files in the img files?

:/lib/firmware/nvidia$ find . | grep gsp-5
./ga100/gsp/gsp-570.144.bin.xz
./ga100/gsp/gsp-535.113.01.bin.xz
./tu102/gsp/gsp-570.144.bin.xz
./tu102/gsp/gsp-535.113.01.bin.xz
./gh100/gsp/gsp-570.144.bin.xz
