I'm quite harsh when people say, "it's too different to what I'm used
to."

"Really?! How many times have you had to re-learn some software
because the supplier has re-invented it?"

As a point in case, I knew someone who'd done some course on how to use
Office, but found it utterly inapplicable to the version on her home
PC. I read her course notes and compared them to her version, it *was*
radically different.

Granted that many people do not learn *any* of the features beyond cut
and paste, and changing the font. And that's easy to figure out on
almost any word processor. But if anybody gives me a word proc file to
use, it's almost a given that it'll need cleaning up for having a
gazillion overlapping font change instructions, and gaps. And pages
with one word left over from a paragraph on the prior page. No
leading. Pagination by blank lines, paragraph formatting by blank
spaces. No use of headings... I spent ages sanitising someone's
document a few years ago, a complex nested list of numbered sections
and sub-sections for an organisation's constitution that was all messed
up.

I'd fail the usual idiot has done a moronic test for AI use, because I
actually know how to type and use proper punctuation. And I'm not
afraid to tell such morons off like I'm a 1970s school master, I take a
"heads will roll" attitude to them. Fortunately I'm not a student
being falsely accused of such things.
