in addition to;

have a look at;

   [man|info] make

   [man|info] bash

   [man|info] tcsh

*note*

   .sh  = bash
   .csh = tcsh

to save your self time, try running '[man|info] word/command' to see
how something work. then when you get confused, post to list for
further confusion. 8-D

I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have gone over the man pages for bash/sh/tcsh/etc. and read everything on the web. I keep an html of the make doc on my desktop to make sure I can always consult (I didn't spot an answer when I scanned it).

I stand a fighting chance on trying to write a script given all the resources out there before I have to come to this list. But either I am blind (including being sufficently frustrated that I made myself blind) or I can't figure out the magic keywords to get the answer out of Google.

Now, I know this could be interpreted as a challenge for someone to find it and go "its wasn't that hard, see" and I will have no problem eating crow.

This was one of those times where I can't find my glasses even though they were on top of my head.

Thanks,
Paul
