Hello. Thanks Hermod for replying. I think I did what you suggested by deleting "C:\Documents and Settings\othomas\.m2\repository\org\apache\servicemix", and re-running the install-file task again with an earlier version of the same archetype. You'll see how I did this by looking at:
http://www.nabble.com/Maven-newbie-alert---incorrect-archetype-version.- tf3359474s12049.html Unfortunately, this didn't fix the problem. Sigh... although I would really like to know how Maven works, I have a deliverable that my management is waiting for, and would rather just use Maven to help me produce it at the moment. Maybe it's a bit too early to use Maven in the production of JBI binding components. Thanks in advance of your help, Owen. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, March 07, 2007 5:21 PM To: users@maven.apache.org Subject: RE: Maven newbie alert - incorrect archetype version. Hi If you get the error: "Embedded error: The META-INF/maven/archetype.xml descriptor cannot be found". then the archtype is broke. This is the file that controls the archetype itself. Try removing the previously downloaded archetype from your local repo and then do a new run.
