Thank you for the heads up!

I indeed was using Java 8, but for some projects I had to install Java 11
and Java 17. After that I verified and checked NetBeans was running on Java
17.

However the issue still persists irrelevant of whatever LAF I choose.

I'll check the font rendering issues, though I'm not using a custom editor
font ATM.
