An eloquent post---This captures the issue with people like Cosmi or Luxuriousity (who dreamed up THAT absurdity?). The business model of Open Source is about service---if you dont charge for the software, the only way to make money is for some other value-added function.

You don't listen, they do add value added things. Maybe, they don't charge at all for OOo and they are throwing it in for free when you buy their Clip art, Fonts, and graphics. Then would it be Okay?

This could be selling systems, setup, training, support, etc.
In this context, it is arguably unethical to sell what is freely available at no cost---and then abdicate on the support.

How do you expect a company to offer full fledge support for only $30 a product. This isn't reasonable. SO costs $70 and you don't get full support for life. Only when start paying $1,000s a year do you get the kind of support you expect from Cosmi.
