Brian,

Setting aside my continuing text/picture wrap problems (as mentioned in the complementary thread), I at least wanted to get back to you on these two points:

o If you select "Wrap" (first entry), it gives you, in a conceptual mess, explanations for "No wrap", "Page wrap", "Dynamic page wrap", "Wrap through", "In background", "Contour", "Edit Contour", "First paragraph", and "Edit".

My only problem with this, as I mentioned, is that I don't see that there is any way to set "Dynamic page wrap". I suspect it doesn't exist and must have belonged in some other version of OpenOffice - either earlier or later. In any case, I'm not trying to defend OpenOffice (or the help text) as it is, merely to try to help in its use.

Yes, I appreciated that (in both senses of that word). Likewise, despite confessing a "peeve" with OO, I was not trying to attack it, or its Help file, merely trying to make sense of both. In that context, I really appreciated this:

Incidentally, you appear to be searching the help text using the Find tab.

Nice catch!

I usually (though not always) find the Index tab more useful. Typing "wrap" takes you straight to "wrapping text" and "wrapping text;editing contours", and the top of the branch that you need.

I will keep that in mind. Thanks for all of your graceful efforts to help.

John
