this should be the case, given that you say you're not subscribed to
it.
The header "X-Injected-Via-Gmane: http://gmane.org/" indicates that he
posted through gmane. He is not subscribed to the list. Any message
sent through Gmane does not go through the moderator.
Then, searching out all of Harold's posts, I find one post with the
x-injected header and none of the others. This is a range of posts
between 13:06 and 13:04, plus ones at 05:08 and 05:59, all within this
particular subject. I searched on his name AND the subject to get this
list.
So, he posted to this thread once through gmane, and the other times
through the list?
Also I'm not sure that shows anything more than the Reply To/From
relationship lines do, which seems to follow along with the
"injected..." header's display method. And is sure easier to find<G>!
OTOH, although I admit to getting dizzy, the "posted to gmane" doesn't
seem to hold for every person I check.
Harold, is that what you did?
I think I"m about to give up this effort. My vertigo is bad enough as
it is!

I tend to clear out my e-mail box. Perhaps too often. Thus it sometimes
turns out that I have deleted messages prematurely. If that happens, I
temporarily subscribe to the Gmane group, re-read the messages and reply
that way. No magic.
