Do you, Dale, have any association with a university? I just got MS
Office Pro 2010 for $8 because I'm in a senior program at Cal-Fullerton
and I qualify as a "student". Program is complete and doesn't expire in
? 4 years. The price may apply, I don't know, only if the university has
some special arrangement with Microsoft.
Turns out I may not use Office. I got Office because I thought Access
would let me easily use some old dBase files in an XP computer.
Apparently the ability to input dBase files has been dropped from Office
2010; fairly sure it was included ten or more years ago. I may switch
from OpenOffice Writer to Word.

Nope, not since CSUN in '83. I did sit in on my wife's English class a few times, but even that was several years ago.

Just between you and me, I don't think MSO is worth even $8 more than OOo. I have a true contempt for all things MS. I wouldn't be using WinXP if I could get OS/2 to install on this machine. If I can get eCS (OS/2's successor) to install, I can scrap WinXP too.
