You could also use beagle, a .NET / Mono file searcher. Works on Windows
and Linux (a Mac?).

And what about others?
In Unixlike operating systems you could combine "find" "sed" "unzip"
with some pipes in a command line.
What is your problemspace? Perhaps someone else can be of more help in
your case. Just be specific enough.
