well this file is NOT anything critical, just the jobs i did for a co. a
while back, that is why i offered it to someone in your co. to open it for
me and see that the file truthfully belongs to me.

AIUI, this is not possible. The purpose of passwords is to prevent
strangers
from opening a file, so why would you expect passing the file to a
stranger
be a way of retrieving the data? I seem to remember someone saying that
the
encryption used by OOo is strong.
