Passwords are certainly one way to establish ownership but do not help
much if you cannot remember the password :-(  There is another way,
digital signing.  Check out
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/OOo2.x/user_guide2_draft.pdf
for idea on how to use this. You should also checkout on how to set
document properties.
