Thanks for your feedback Scott and Roderick and Terence.

I have uninstalled, downloaded and reinstalled 2.0.3. I also reinstalled the
dictionaries I am using. So far, in the work I have done, new words have
been saved into, and retained by the dictionaries. The recent documents
section is remembering my recent documents. For the time being the problem
has been solved.

Thanks for your attention to this matter. And thanks too must especially go
to the volunteers. You guys rock!!!

About settings and info not getting saved:

Are you seeing it in brand new installs, upgrades from earlier
versions, or both?

I have a hunch. I think the problem you're reporting is related to the
macro problem I've been fighting with. I don't know the cause, but I
find it interesting that things like macros, dictionaries, and the like
do not appear in the paths list on a fresh install, and these are the
kinds of things you're reporting as not being saved. I don't know how
the recent documents problem fits in. As far as I can tell, there's no
connection between recent docs and paths, and, although I'm not a big
user of Recent Documents, it looks like it works for me.

2.0.3 for XP seems to have trouble saving some settings and add-ons. I
can't confirm anything, really, other than what I've seen and what I've
read about on this list. On my own computers, I have the problems on XP
machines with fresh 2.0.3 installs, but not on XPX or Win2k machines
that have been upgraded to 2.0.3 from earlier versions, and not on Linux
boxes, whether upgraded or installed fresh.

You might try installing 2.0.2 or something even earlier, then upgrade
to 2.0.3 and see if it fixes the problem. Or maybe I should try it
myself, and maybe I will one of these days, when I have more time to
test this theory a little more.
