Hi Jorge
I used to be using a Microsoft Excel Spread Sheet and now i am using
your software Open Office Calc to open and edit the same spread sheet on
my network. On Microsoft Excel i had that file shared with in the
network, so everyone at those different locations could see, edit, and
save the information and it would update on the other locations at
anytime they would save the spread sheet.
Strictly speaking, your Excel file was only in one location, and others
were accessing and updating the one file, so multiple copies weren't
actually being updated.
I need to find out how to share a file with in a small network. I hope
you can come back at me on this AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Sharing files is the job of the operating system, not the office suite, so
what worked before for Excel should now be working for Calc. The only
difference is that Calc will not allow more than one user at a time to
open the file.
Is something different happening with Calc than what happened with Excel?
If you're simply asking how to set up file sharing in Windows XP, right
click on the file or folder you want to share, click on Properties, click
on Sharing, and click the appropriate buttons.
