That's not a very attractive option, because I want to be able to
spell-check those paragraphs. In the documents I write, many
paragraphs have the word "C++" in them, and foregoing spell checking

Language is per-character, not per-paragraph. Just select the "C++"
and format it (under Font) "No Language".
Wouldn't he have to do that for every occurrence, just in case one
occurrence overflowed a line without him noticing?
