Thank you, thank you, James.............
I downloaded the free Power Point viewer, and it works! There is no way I would have known about this if you had not told me. As you no doubt realize, I'm not very computer literate.
I have no idea why Mozilla/Firefox inserted itself into my computer, but wondered if it was somehow part of the Open Office download.Anyway, I deleted it.
Now that I have PP Viewer, I would like do remove whatever it was from Open Office that I downloaded. Do you see any problems with this?
You can remove OpenOffice, as you would any other application, by using
Add/remove software in the control panel. However, why not just give it
a try? OpenOffice is an excellent office suite comparable to Microsoft
Office. Firefox and other applications from Mozilla are excellent
packages that often work better than those from Microsoft.
Thank you again.............Sharon

Help!
I installed Open Office in order to open a Power Point document attached to an
email. I still can't open the Power Point document.
Was that PowerPoint file from Microsoft Office 2007, in the new format?
If so, OpenOffice can't open them. You should be able to view it using
the free PowerPoint viewer from Microsoft.

In addition, Fire Fox and Mozilla (which I don't want) WERE installed but I was able to delete them in my Add/Remove program. What gives?
I don't understand what you're asking with this question.
