Hi there
I am a new member and am delighted with the openoffice system. Is there
any ability to be able to access power point or any other applications other
than 'word' document'?
Yes, OpenOffice can open most Powerpoint presentations and Excel
spreadsheets. It's not 100% compatible but handles most things. Sound in
Powerpoint is one of the things it's not too hot on. The thing it absolutely
can't do yet is open documents in Microsoft's new so-called "2007" format.
That should happen in September with version 3 of OpenOffice.
Harald, have you checked the OOo 3.0b to see whether it does, indeed,
succeed in opening ppsx files ? Can we be reasonably certain that the OOo
3.0 that is scheduled to be released in September will, in fact, be able to
open these files ?...
Henri
Henri,
No, I haven't checked; I'm relying on information from others, mainly in
this list.
