True, but the subject was raised here so here I replied. I will not
encourage further list erosion by posting new material, but I will
counter these points.

San Fransisco is known as an incredibly diverse city. Apparently most
of it's present day inhabitants come of lineage that crossed an ocean,
not those who crossed a continent, to get their.

You also use and promote open source software. I would say that you
are not the typical American in much the same sense that you are not
the typical computer user. I say that as a compliment, in much the
same sense that my generalizations of earlier were made in good
spirit. There is nothing surprising about exceptions to
generalizations. That is why they are called generalizations and not
rules.
