I assume you're running Windows
1) Download the latest Windows version from www.openoffice.org.
2) Double click on the downloaded file, to start the installation process.
3) Go through the installation, answering the questions as appropriate.
4) When the installation is complete, you should find an OpenOffice
folder and icons in your Start menu. You can use the icons to start the
various OpenOffice components.
