I could be wrong. Some dictionaries say that “several” means more than “two” or “three”. But they also say it means more than “few”, which some dictionaries say means “more than two”.

In the UK I've always believed that:

"A couple" ~ 2
"A few" ~ 3
"Several" > 3.

So yes, if in your idiolect “several” means about 5, then I freely admit the statement was correct.

I think that my belief system is pretty standard over here (old blighty) although I must admit to not knowing if there is an ISO definition for few and several ;-)

Anyway - M$O is *infinitely* more expensive than OOo so I know which I'd choose...
