I'm not working for Alinto, the company which takes over maintenance of SOGo. However, I've talked to a sales representative some months ago as we were inquiring for a support license, and they told me that they are relocating the development of SOGo (server) to France, and would continue development. We didn't talk about the sogo-connector specifically though. Do you have specific indications that they will stop development of sogo-connector? It would be a pity, especially because TB is getting a major overhaul since about 2 years.

No. No specific indications. However their product is:

"SOGomail by Alinto"
Powerful business-class mail Server for organisations that are looking for a proven European alternative.

And I don't see any indication that they will support Thunderbird. Come to that support from Inverse was not really enthusiastic in the last release.

As mentioned our best bet is to work to get most of this into TB itself or a lightweight addon.
