Thanks Kai-Uwe and Daniel,
I second your wish. I am using ActiveSync as well, and I monitored the Gmail
app to figure out whether it connects to Google and it didn´t. I am not using
new Outlook or Outlook mobile because I as well don´t want MS to read my mails.
In fact ActiveSync was on my feature list when I selected mailcow, and if SOGo
removes ActiveSync and mailcow doesn´t adopt an alternative I probably will
switch to something else.
And in general, I appreciate decisions based on facts rather than myths or
wrong citations. Mike Kuketz writes the app grabs data, not the procotol.
Thanks,
Joachim

I second this approach.

Even though I had myself reported that I (we, our family) stopped using
ActiveSync in favour of IMAP/CalDAV/CardDAV because we are unable to find any
properly working Android app supporting it (Gmail, BlueMail and Nine do not work
properly) I still think that SOGo should keep ActvieSync. The app situation may
change ... ActiveSync is a good solution and I had used it with SOGo (and other
Servers) over many years. Perhaps Thunderbird mobile will add support for it...

Well, at the risk of making myself unpopular too, as someone said before… It’s
quite interesting to view people that doesn’t use EAS (or virtually anything
else IRL) actually pushing the idea of it being removed for things like “i
don’t use it” or “I hate it” or “it’s created by Microsoft"…

With all the respect for you all, if it is there but you hate it or don’t want
to use it, you have the OPTION, the CHOICE, to disable or not to activate it on
your deployment. But for all the rest of us that rely on it in any way, not
having it there could be quite a problem. I will never understand why people
act so selfish and individual, especially there where is a place for all… if
you don’t need it, just don’t use it, but don’t push for its removal just
because you don’t want to use it, knowing some other people actually need it
and use it and will be impacted by its removal...

>From my point of view, and because I actually use it, it’s a bad thing the
>devs want to drop EAS. I really hope they will make us all a favor and keep

Daniel
