Now a host with more than one interface might have more than one
helo name. But that's not 1000:1 kind of ratios.

The point was that the original poster was complaining about having
to match PTR->A and that it isn't always possible. I simply asked
how many HeloNames he was trying to use.
If he wants to have 1000 HeloNames, then he'll (a) need to customize
his e-mail software and (b) need to find a way to make the A<->PTRs
all match up.
There are better ways to do this. A->PTR matching is not a steep
requirement unless you try to do this all back-asswards :-)
