It's been a while since the SARE rules have been updated. Checking for updates daily would only generate useless traffic. It's better to get the updates provided by the SpamAssassin project ( http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/RuleUpdates ). The "sought" rules ( http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/SoughtRules ) are quite effective in catching "fresh" spam messages.
