I've been neglecting my tomcat9 server a bit lately under Ubuntu 24.04.
Possibly due to an upgrade of my system the tomcat9 backend (haproxy in front

Some other services also seemed to have been fallen victim of this possibly
stricter policy?
root@mail:/var/log/tomcat9# systemctl status tomcat9
○ tomcat9.service
Loaded: masked (Reason: Unit tomcat9.service is masked.)
Active: inactive (dead)
root@mail:/var/log/tomcat9#
What do I have to do to resurrect the service?
Ubuntu 24.04 uses Tomcat 10 as the default application server. My guess
is that you updated your OS and during the update, it masked the Tomcat
9 service, since Tomcat 9 has been removed.
You'll need to install Tomcat 9 manually or move to Tomcat 10.
