Hi Chris, going to tomcat home page I can see no link to tomcat 9.1 docs
Where I can find more details on
Tomcat 9.1 will continue to support Java EE but will break some rules
that Tomcat 9.0 has, such as the minimum Java version and the removal
of APR connector flavors.
and any other relevant changes in 9.1
Maybe the link was already sent on the list but I cannot find it.
TIA

Thanks, Sebastian. Yes, I figured it out meanwhile. Will check
whether Tomcat 10 is an option. Otherwise: Tomcat9 supports ends in
2027?
Yes: https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-9.0.x-eos.htm
To clarify: support for Tomcat 9.0.x will end in 2027, but Tomcat
9.1.x will be immediately supported for .. a long time after that.
Why?
Because not everyone is ready to move to Jakarta EE.
Tomcat 9.1 will continue to support Java EE but will break some rules

of APR connector flavors.
But otherwise it will be "Tomcat 9" as you've known it.
I would encourage everyone to test their applications with Tomcat 10.1
by deploying into the webapps-javaee directory. You may find that your
applications work without any modification. Then you can work to
migrate them properly to the newer Jakarta EE APIs.

I've been neglecting my tomcat9 server a bit lately under Ubuntu
24.04. Possibly due to an upgrade of my system the tomcat9 backend
(haproxy in front of) had stopped working.
Some other services also seemed to have been fallen victim of this
possibly stricter policy?
root@mail:/var/log/tomcat9# systemctl status tomcat9
○ tomcat9.service
Loaded: masked (Reason: Unit tomcat9.service is masked.)
Active: inactive (dead)
root@mail:/var/log/tomcat9#
What do I have to do to resurrect the service?
Ubuntu 24.04 uses Tomcat 10 as the default application server. My
guess is that you updated your OS and during the update, it masked
the Tomcat 9 service, since Tomcat 9 has been removed.
You'll need to install Tomcat 9 manually or move to Tomcat 10.
