yes the name of the class is 'RollingFileAppender' and you can specify
maxFileSize with log4j.appender.file.maxFileSize
parameter (as in log4.properties attributes entries located here)
log4j.appender.file=org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender
log4j.appender.file.maxFileSize=100KB
