Which specific version? Are you running the latest-available 4.1.x
version? If not, you should upgrade to the latest 4.1 Tomcat which is
4.1.40.

Do you get this exception from the shutdown process, or from the running
Tomcat? It looks like the running Tomcat. Does Tomcat still shut down,
or do you have to kill -9 it?
