From the docs:

 ProxyPass        /mirror/foo/ http://backend.example.com/
 ProxyPassReverse /mirror/foo/ http://backend.example.com/

 http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_proxy.html#proxypassreverse

ProxyPassReverse is designed to be used to address the situation you
describe, you just appear to be using it incorrectly.

Can you try again, with the correct 2nd parameter for this directive?
