Maybe the posts like "I do not use Models" or "Only 20% or our components have Models" come from the same background as my early wicket adoption.
i don't think you use compoundpropertymodels very often, so your mileage may be very different how often you use component models.
another example: inner classes/components don't have a model on my apps very often, since they access the parents model/state directly.
