I heard something really bizzare today on the radio. It was a Canadian radio station that had some show with bunch of scientists answering questions. One question was: "How far would 6 foot tall person see if conditions were perfect and terrain was flat?". The answer was something like: "They would see 5 kilometers in the distance. And if the person was six inxches shorter they would see aproximately quarter of a kilometer closer. " This was a real hodge-podge combination of units which was obviously driven by a question from the audience which was in FFU. It does make it for a really confusing conversion for someone who doesn't know one or the other unit of measurement.

PS I only tuned in to it for a short time and right at the end while driving so I have no idea what station it was or who the people were.
