It might not be confusing to Canadians.  Canadians continue to measure their
height in FFU (feet/inches), but measure road distances in kilometres.
Automobile gauges, road signs and maps all use kilometres, so this is a
familiar unit.  Miles would be strange to them as it can not me associated
with day to day living.

Canadians call their mixture of SI and FFU SImperial.
