"The cloud" usually offers APIs. For example if I were to use e.g. Cloudflare 
for GeoDNS or another service, they all offer me an API I can query and feed 
into a tool like sslyze. You do have a point though, during our scans we 
routinely discovered completely misconfigured servers.
