In order to use a precompiled rpm kernel for ALSA I need a new version
of redhat's linux kernel. I installed it using that nifty little red
exclamation point in the bottom right corner, but when I reboot I'm not
given the option to start with the new kernel. How can I boot using it?

Also, when I want to use apt-get to install something that has multiple
versions, say multiple kernel versions, it says "You should explicitly
select one to install". How do I pick a specific one? The
documentation mentions an '=', but I can't make that or anything else
work for me.

 Thanks,

 -James
