I am really bugged when people insist on pronouncing linux "LINE-UX" or "LINN-UUCKS." They blather on about the nationality of Linus, blah blah blah. Hello! It's "LIN-UCKS" people. Get it right. (We are in AMERICA in case you didn't notice.)
Relatedly I never know how to pronounce "char." 1/2 of me wants to say it like it looks, but the other half argues that char is short for character and should be pronounced, "care." I donno. What's up with people calling MySQL, "my sequel." Uh, I think it's "My ess que ell." Of course there is always the data problem.
