I work in the McDonald Building, and that's what we were told too.
Consequently, I can ping other on-campus address from work too.

Works for me from Chemistry to Computer Science.  I think it's only
turned off
for resnet (internally).  If I recall what OIT told us about this, ping
in and
out of BYU is off, as is ping in and out of resnet.  Most other networks
can
still ping each other.
