You're kidding, right? Going from windows to a binary linux distribution is definitely liberating. And going from a binary to a source distribution feels even more so. Going from Gentoo to Debian though? Unless you're completely of the RMS persuasion, I don't think you can find that liberating. ;) Afterall, you could install completely "free" software alone on gentoo if you wish.
