I will resist the temptation to reply to the part about "a lot to ask of
us."  80% of the uug traffic, particularly the flame wars, are generated
by 20% of the posters.

Therefore I propose a new list (in jest mostly):
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

All messages that about religion, vi vs emacs, Microsoft Windows should
be directed there.

As far as banter is concerned, what about instant messenger, or creating
an irc channel for that.

Furthermore, we all need to go back and relearn the arts of satire,
parody and persuasive writing.  I think only Stuart has mastered these
arts.
