I have a way better security system: I can't seem to get much further than the bedroom before I can't connect, so I figure the locks on my apartment are my security.

Seriously though, the limited range is plenty enough security for me (since I have nothing to protect that I don't already have protected for the LAN's sake anyway).

WEP is not the answer. If you really want to lock down access to your AP, only allow explicitly designated MAC addresses. If you really want secure transmissions, make sure that any time you are sending sensitive information, you are connected through SSL or using ssh. It's that simple.
