You should be able to do it. The burden lies on the laptop to do the
connection sharing. The linux box need only have the proper LAN settings
(including your laptop as gateway). Of course, the laptop needs to have
the LAN settings right too. :-)

Unfortunately, I don't know how to approach this in OS X. Hopefully
someone else does...
