It organizes them if you click on the label name to the left of your inbox. The way I use it is that I mark all my plug and uug emails with the corresponding labels, and I don't label personal email unless it's important. I then can see at a glance what is personal, because it is not labeled. Then I archive everything. If I want to then go through my plug email, I just click on the "plug" label, and it only shows me my plug email. Might as well be a folder. If I want a specific email, but can't remember if it was plug, uug, or a personal response from someone, I can do a search and gmail will search everything no matter the label. Don't know if that clears things up for you, but over the last month, I've grown fond of this way of doing things. :) My only complaints, are that gmail doesn't automatically bottom post, or handle gpg signatures and encryption. Ah well, nothings perfect.
