I was copying some files between a WinXP machine and Ubuntu tonight,
and every time I switched the drive between the two, some space
disappeared. I copied files over on and off for about 4 hours. Usually
about 150Mb at a time. Even after deleting everything, and verifying
that there was nothing there (just with ls -a), the drive showed ~80
Mb being used.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? I ended up just reformatting
it, and all the space came back. There weren't any read or write
errors tonight, and I've never had these problems with this drive.
