Of couse - but you're almost making the assumption that the current
preidency isn't, and then telling them what policies they must follow.

Agreed - but at the same time - I don't whitelist sites for adblock
plus - it just hits everything. I'm always amazed when I got to a site
I frequent from home from a different computer, and discover that they
use ads. It usually takes me a minute to figure out that they have
always used ads, and that I just never see them.

And for FYU - I actually don't like the ads, or ads in general,
especially flash ads. I hate just about everything about flash (and
java for that point) being used online except for its uses as a video
container. I was more just bringing up the devils advocate point, and
trying to defend the person who put the ads there in the first place (I
at least know that he has good reasons for not telling the list about
their placement, whatever the reason). I find that people are jumping
to conclusions way to fast here.

As far as trying to attack my ability to program simply because I use
adblocking software, I think you are being a little presumptious. The
decision to put the ads there weren't mine, and I had no say in the
matter. Just because I was saying that I was surprised that people
don't use adblocking software doesn't mean that I wouldn't change things
if elected. Personally, I would take them off, for various reasons.
Everything I've ever seen the uug have in terms of hardware,
binary-grab-bags, or advertising, have been donated by the CS department
or other supporting orginazations - like AST, GuruLabs, or the Utah Open
Source Supporting Group (name?). But I diverge. Andrew, shame on you
for openly attacking someone without learning the truth. I expected
more.

As for me - I've said my peace and am now out of this conversation.
Hopefully Peter will say something about this tonight when he gets home
from work.
